The fly line is the direct connection between you and the fish. It can influence how far you can cast, how well your fly presents, and how you feel the take of the fly. Choosing The Right Fly Line

When choosing a fly line, the most important factor is to match your line weight to your rod weight. If you have a 5-weight rod, use a 5-weight line, and also consider the type of fishing you plan to do, selecting a floating line for surface fishing, a sink-tip line for deeper presentations, or a full-sink line for very deep water, while also taking into account the specific environment and conditions you'll be fishing in.
