Thread

Tying thread holds all flies together. When a new tier starts learning how to create fishing flies not much thought goes into the different types of thread and their different uses but as you grow in your skill level you can quickly discover that not all thread is the same. We have two types of thread used in tying flies, round and flat. Round thread is great for most applications but flat should be used specifically for others. Thread strength is an important factor to consider. also matching the thread diameter to the size hook you are tying the fly on. Smaller thread is crucial in keeping the fly head small and neat. Of the fly tying thread we carry Uni-Thread is round while Ultra thread is flat. Veevus is made in small sizes and is very strong for its diameter. G.S.P. thread the strongest thread is used for spinning hair or other applications that require a great amount of torque.
