This popular fly is one the most famous Maine Streamer Flies and was created by the internationally renowned Herbie L. Welch, one of the greatest of all time taxidermist of trout and a Maine Guide of Mooselookmeguntic in Oquossoc. Welch fished and guided the Kennebago River and Upper Dam and has been credited with creating the very first streamer fly in 1901. The Black Ghost was said to have been created by Welch back in 1927.
