Rangeley Region Fishing Report - June 25 2026

After last week's rain the rivers are starting to drop in flow. While all tailwaters are too high to fish well, the freestones are dropping back into fishable levels. Water temps are in the 58-60 degree range in the mornings. Caddis are usually the most common bug at this time but today I watched fish feeding on Hendricksons and Blue Quill Mayflies. It is almost like we have been set back 3 weeks by the cool and wet temps. On the positive side the high water should bring lots of fish up the rivers and prolong the good fishing further into the summer months. The roads are in good shape and the Black Flies are really bad.  In the end it would be good to just go fishing, enjoy the outdoors, and learn something regardless of the conditions.
