Rangeley Region Fishing Report - July 30 2026

Our current weather in the area is typically summer in the mountains. After scattered thunder storms in the beginning of the week we are now cloudy with occasional showers. The weekend looks good - seasonal dry with maybe some rain on Sunday and Monday. The Magalloway is at normal summer flows with water temps in the 60's. The freestone rivers and streams are at normal summer levels but will start getting low if we don't get any rain soon. Stoneflies and small tan caddis are the bugs you will find at the Mag. Attractors and terrestrials would be good where there aren't any bugs hatching. The Kennebago and other freestones will have very changeable water temps. In the morning when nighttime air temps have been in the 50's, water temps will be in the mid 60's, cold enough to grab a couple of hours on the water before the water temps reach the 70 degree mark. Have a good weekend.
