Rangeley Region Fishing Report - May 11 2023

The weather here in the mountains has finally turned warmer and the river flows are dropping off. Water temps are in the 45 to 54 degree range with the Rangeley the coldest and the lower Kennebago the warmest. The Magalloway at # 10 bridge is at 48 degrees while the lower Mag. is a little cooler. The sucker spawn event is under way in the usual places. I caught trout on the simplest white egg today but they will get more picky as they see more flies. I saw midges in a couple of places today and the fish will feed on them when they are around. With the dry weather in the forecast water temps and fish movement might change quickly. We could see hatches in a week and most likely the biting kind also. The roads are in good shape in most places.

Till next time,

Brett
