The weather continues its changeable ways this week. After a couple of warm sunny days we are back in a cool and cloudy pattern. We received 1-2 inches of rain since my last report which has caused high flows on all the rivers but they will slowly go down thru the weekend. Water temps yesterday before the rain were as high as 48 degrees at the Middle Magalloway. Other places have been in the 40 - 45 degree range. The catching will improving every day as the levels continue to drop and temperatures continue to rise. Many reports today of good success with the tried and true smelt imitations. I have not heard of any suckers spawning but there are some around and getting ready. I have heard of good success on some area ponds also. This is fishing with sinking lines with streamers or wet flies. Best streamers to try: Black Ghost Marabou, Kennebago Smelt, Gartside soft hackle and Golden Retriever.
Till next time,
Brett
