early season brook trout caught while fly fishing in the rangeley maine area

Fishing Report - May 25, 2017

Fishing is finally picking up on our area waters. Rivers are all at good levels and water temps have reached the 50 degree mark. Levels could go up if we get too much rain on Friday . Fish have moved into all the places you would expect to find them although I don't know about the lower Kennebago around Steep Bank Pool. Bugs are in the air with Hendricksons and green caddis hatching, and many nymphs becoming active on the bottom.  All the pieces are in place for a good weekend on the water: good flows, sunshine, black flies, hungry fish. You can check the flow levels at Waterline site.

Have fun, be courteous to others, and take time to look around at nature's beauty.
