Rangeley Region Fishing Report - May 14 2026

This report is not much about whats going on but whats coming. Not much has changed here in the last week. Water temps are still in the low 40's but tail water flows have come up on the Rangeley and the Magalloway rivers. Freestone flows are being sustained by the little rain we have had this week. What is coming if the forecast holds true is a long awaited warm up.  I would expect some hatches next week and some motivation for the suckers to spawn if  the water temps push into the high 40's. We should see Hendricksons, Blue Quills and March Brown mayflies as the first bugs of the  spring. Also, the flying ants come out if the temps get real warm in the high 70's near 80.  Feel free to call the shop if you have any questions.
