Fishing Report August 11 2016

Hot and dry is the word from Rangeley this week. Water temps are at the upper extent of the comfort range for the fish on the lakes. The small streams and headwaters are still cool but there is not much water in them. The good news is that rain is predicted for the next 4 days. The Magalloway has been at low flow for a month but is scheduled for releases this week end so this should help the fishing. On the Mag. it is the usual tan caddis and stonefly theme. Both upper dam and the Rapid are very slow. If we get the expected rain any stream or headwater should be good fishing. Use small flies like Klinkhamer, Caddis or Hornbergs. Grasshoppers should start be show up on the water also. Till next time, think September.
