Fishing Report - September 13 2018

After some cool days last week-end and 1 inch of rain on Tuesday we are now having sunshine and warm temps. We had water temps in the 50 degree range on Monday perfect for the fish to move up the rivers. There was only minor flow increases due to the rain on Tuesday. There were Salmon jumping all over Steep bank pool yesterday with plenty of fisherman standing in the water. Water temp at the Magalloway yesterday was in the mid 60's. We caught fish on small nymphs and the pink worm. It looks like we are expecting more rain and cooler temps next week to reinforce the slow progress toward the peak of the fall fishing season. When fish are fresh into the rivers streamers like Black Ghost work well for the first week so have fun with big flies while you can.
