Fishing Report - July 17 2020

We had .5  to .75 inches of rain today and cool raw weather. Our water supply looks pretty good right now and temps have come down a bit. Look for hot weather over the weekend. Give it a couple of days and we could see some hex hatches on the still water. The Magalloway is fishing well now with a good supply of stoneflies and caddis. Good caddis patterns include olive klinks, olive deer hair caddis, henryville special and puterbaugh caddis in size 16. The Kennebago is slow due to warm temps. The smaller the water you fish the colder it will be thus having more activity. If you don't care about catching small brookies you can spend all summer fishing the smaller water. My favorite patterns on the streams are mostly parachute such as adams, klinkhamers and purple haze. The Rapid is warm and full of smallmouth but some salmon can be nymphed up. They will be rafting on the Rapid over the week end. Have a good weekend.
