Rangeley Region Fishing Report - June 23 2022

Our cool early summer weather continues here in the mountains.  Water levels are staying at good levels and water temps are in the 55-65 degree range. The area lakes are all still full and rain has been timely in keeping water temps and flows good. Most mayfly hatches are over and the caddis are now the main bugs to imitate. This is except for BWO's which are always here in some measures. Stoneflies are also hatching on most rivers. The drakes have been hatching on Kennebago Lake for a week and offering some fine top water fishing. The lower Magalloway has picked up this week with more fish moving up the river. The Rapid has been slow but should pick up as soon as the alder flies show up by the end of the month. The lower Kennebago could be a place to check out for fresh salmon any time now. The biting bugs are are still around so be prepared for them.

Tell next time,

Brett
