Rangeley Region Fishing Report - May 26 2022

The roller coaster  spring weather continues here in the mountains. We haven't had rain since last Saturday so river levels are down to normal. The Kennebago is still a bit high for easy wading but very fishable. The sucker spawn is over. The fishing on the Magalloway has been slower than normal but still worth giving it a try since it changes daily this time of year. The weather this week has been on the fair side temp wise which has lead to mayfly hatches in many areas. This time of year you need to start in the morning at subsurface biding your time till the after noon warmth brings out the bugs. You may only get an hour fishing dries but it can make your day. Looking ahead I expect we will get a bump in water levels after the predicted rain on Friday and Saturday and then a couple of days to get back to normal. The cycle continues so try to be out there enough to catch those special moments.

Till next time

Brett
