Our weather pattern took a turn for the better this afternoon as the damp easterly breeze was replaced with a drying turn from the west. We received a couple of inches of rain this week keeping lake and river levels at their banks. Fishing has been a bit slow due to this departing weather but good enough to leave content fisherman at the end of the day. Tailwater flows are in the 1000 c.f.s. range except for the Magalloway which remains at less than 400. Freestone waters are at a nice level with water temps in the 58-60 degree range. Drake activity on the stillwater will pick up as the days warm up. Caddis of varied types and colors are the predominate bugs with the ever present B.W.O.'s on the cooler days. Alder Flies should arrive at the Rapid any day now. Be prepared for the biting bugs as they are quite busy right know.
