This week began with cloudy and cool weather topped off with 3/4" of rain. The rain brought up the area freestones and cooled the water temps. Look for water temps in the 58-60 degree range this weekend. I have seen some caddis along with the Hendricksons and March Browns which has made for some good dry fly action especially in the afternoons. When surface feeding slows down try a pair of soft hackle flies to match the mayflies you have seen. Add a small split shot to the leader or make the first fly a beadhead to get the flies down a little. Blacknose dace are spawning now if you like fishing streamers. The tailwaters are at prime fishing levels with cool water. Blackflies are ramping up for a good weekend feed.
