After a cold and wet week the flows remain high on the tailwaters and fishable on the freestone rivers and streams. Water temps are in the 45-50 degree range and there are not many hatching bugs around. We have been catching fish on mayfly nymphs either fished with an indicator or swung down and across. Soft hackle hares ear, pheasant tails, and partridge and orange. The sucker spawn should be finishing up soon and fish will turn their attention to the many bugs that will be crawling around on the river bottom. Looking ahead, the forecasted warmer weather for next week should raise the water temps and get the mayfly hatches going again. Have a good weekend
