September Fly Rod Deals

  What a beautiful scene in the picture above. A quiet, early fall morning with a great feeling of anticipation that soon the big spawning brookies will fill the cold running rivers. To be ready for the September fun, a fisherman needs to be ready and able to switch methods often until something works. This means streamers on the bottom to small midges on the surface. Switching back and forth with a single rod takes time and effort. Often the thought of switching out keeps us from doing what we know we should do thus not having the success we know we could have. The solution is always carrying a second rod rigged up for your back up fishing method. I always bring a 4 or 5 wt rod for dries and swinging soft hackles and a heavier rod with a sinking line for dredging the bottom with a leech or bugger.
