Things are happening fast here. Ice on most lakes will be out by Sunday. Quimby Pond is out and would be a great place to wet a line. I remember when I was a kid that fishing Quimby at ice out was a real tradition. The tail waters, Magalloway and Rapid are flowing too much water to fish very well. All is high except the smaller streams. The water everywhere is very cold still but should warm as the last of the snow and ice disappears. The Mag is at 39-40 degrees and is the only place I know of that has produced any fish yet. The back roads are still in bad shape and people have gotten stuck on the Fish Pond Road and trying to get to # 10 bridge this week. I think we will see things improve by this time next week and the fishing season will really begin.
