Water levels remain low here in the mountains this week. We did receive 3/4 of an inch of rain. The Magalloway and Rapid flows are still running at less than 350 cfs when they usually would be at 600 or more. The water temps on the Mag are in the mid 50's while I wouldn't be surprised if the Rapid is pushing 60. Both places are fishing well with daily changes due to the weather. There have been lots of caddis on the Mag this week. Use both nymphs and dries to copy this bug. There are also plenty of mayflies in the air and sometimes the fish are feeding on them and not the caddis. Parachute flies like Adams and quill body flies work well. If the low flows continue into the summer still water fishing will be what we will have to do. Be ready for the drakes that will start showing up in the middle of the month.
