Rangeley Region Fishing Report - May 21 2021

Summer weather is upon us here in the mountains. Water temps are into the mid 50's during the warmest part of the day. The Magalloway today was 48 in the morning and will stay colder than other places as the warm days continue. The freestones I was on this week were in the mid 50's by the afternoon when the bugs began hatching. This week I have seen Hendrickson's and March Browns added to the B.W.O.s. I doubt there has been much progress in filling the lakes this week although some rain fell in the headwaters on Thursday. Nymphs for the Magalloway and Rapid are small Pheasant tails, Green caddis worms, Zebra midges, San Juan worms, and eggs where the suckers are.
