The ice has been quickly leaving our lakes and ponds in the area over the last 3 to 4 days and is now out on Rangeley Lake also. The lakes and rivers are full and flows on the tailwaters went up today. The rise in levels will bring fish into the rivers as soon as the water temps are comfortable for them. Water temps are below 40 degrees which is still cool for the fish to be to active. Nymphing is the best way to get a fly in front of a sluggish trout. Pink sparkle worm with a zebra midge dropper are good options for this time of the season.
