Brassie
This month's fly is a variation of the Brassie nymph. The Brassie is a midge emerger imitation that is very effective in the fall when the spawning fish are feeding heavily on them. By adding a collar of CDC on the head of the fly you add a great deal more attractiveness to the fly. A CDC collar can be added to many of your favorite nymphs to increase its fish appeal.
Hook - 2 or 3x long nymph size 14-20
Thread - grey
Body - small copper wire
Thorax - grey super fine dubbing
Collar - natural CDC feather
