This month’s fly is the Grizzly King Wulff. The Grizzly King fly is a wet fly originating in England in the 1800s as best I can tell. When it became a Wulff pattern I do not know. It certainly has all the necessary elements to make it a good attractor pattern – a splash of color in the tail and body and a heavy hackle to keep it floating.
Hook - dry fly #8 – 14
thread - black
tail - red fibers
body - green yarn
rib - gold tinsel
wing - gray squirrel hair
