lightning bug at a maine fly shop

This month's fly is the Lightning Bug. I can't find much background info on this fly. Just that it has been around since the early 90's and is mentioned as a Montana favorite. I have been using it for 10 years or so. My most effective way to use it is as a top fly in a larger size.

Hook - curved nymph 12 - 18
Thread - black
Bead - gold
Tail - pheasant tail fibers
Body - silver holo tinsel or pearl tinsel
Rib - small silver wire
Thorax - Peacock herl
Wingcase - tinsel
Legs - pheasant tail
