Net Spinning Caddis Larva. - Rangeley Region Sports Shop

This month’s fly is the net spinning caddis larva.  I got this pattern from the Hatch Guide for New England Streams by Thomas Ames. It has become a “go to” nymph for me at most times of the summer fishing season because that type of caddis is so frequently found here.
Hook     -curved caddis #12 – 16
thread - brown
tail -       ostrich herl
body -   olive dubbing
rib -        small copper wire
back -    turkey tail fibers
head -   brown dubbing
