Fishing Report - May 11 2017

Posted on May 11 2017

fishing a prolific snowflake hatch in the rangeley maine area

Not much change here since last week. It is still mostly overcast and cold. Water on the lakes and rivers are only around the 40 degree mark. The high flows have subsided a bit on the un dammed waters but the Rapid remains high. The Magalloway is at a fishable 650 cfs for now but if we get the predicted rain on Sunday we will lose that river also. The upper Magalloway will start to produce some fish but most other places are just too cold still. The good news is that it is supposed to warm up nicely next week. For those hitting the water this weekend you should have a selection of smelt patterns and nymphs. There could be some suckers around so have eggs, pheasants tails, green caddis and worms.
