After a couple of days of increased flow the area rivers are down to low again. There was little movement of new fish during this rise in water. This was because the water temps are still in the mid 60's. I believe the temps need to be consistently in the 50's for new fish to move. I was told that there would be a dam release on the Kennebago on the 19th. This should get things moving if the water temps are ideal. The Magalloway is fishing O.K. but is stuck in the high 60's. The Rapid has alot of small Salmon in it but should improve as we move thru next week. Midges are the only bugs around and are being fed on wherever there are fish. Small midge patterns and soft hackle wet flies are good for on top while Buggers, bright streamers and leaches work sub surface. Attractor and midge nymphs work well for fresh fish that have not seen any flies yet. If you have any questions feel free to call the store.
