What a difference a week makes. We have had 10 days of sun and summer warmth and the hatches have begun on the area waters. Flows have come down on the Rangeley and Magalloway but the freestones are still a bit high. The mayflies have been around for 3 days and the dry fly action is turning on. While the warm temps felt good we really need some rain and cooler weather. The suckers are still around but should start to leave soon. It is time to fish caddis and mayfly nymphs as they are hatching and crawling around on the bottom. Green rockworms and killer caddis work well. There are great days ahead of us. Don't forget about the blackflies.
