As the summer month of August comes to an end, the weather turns fall-like and stirs the interest of the area fly fishermen. Most still-water and moving water in our region is at perfect levels. Water temps are in the 55 to 65 degree range. The next bump in river flows could move Brookies up the Kennebago River. People have been asking all week what type of flies to be using this time of year. This is a hard question to answer in general since there are no obvious hatches like in the spring time. This is my advice and a starting point for the fishermen heading into the fall spawning season.
That's it for now, more next week.
