Tan Deer Hair Caddis

 

  This month's fly is the Tan Deer Hair Caddis. I am mentioning this pattern because it has been an important fly for fishing the Magalloway in the last couple of weeks. It is best fished in the pocket water around the rocks and in the seams. Action can be very fast with many misses. Its a fun and simple way to fish. It is best to just fish your leader with short and controlled casts.

Thread - tan
Body - Tan dubbing
Hackle - ginger
Wing - bleached deer hair
