Zug Bug

zug bug fishing fly made with peacock herl

This month’s fly is the Zug Bug.  This nymph was created by Cliff Zug, first tied in the 1930s.  It was created as a caddis nymph imitation.  I also use it as a cased caddis imitation.  Its unique features and peacock herl make it a great searching pattern when things are slow.
